This privacy statement explains how Avon Valley Runners collects and uses personal data from club events and activities.
The club’s controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the club’s Honorary Secretary. The name of the current post holder is available from the club website. The controller can be contacted via email: dataprotection@avonvalleyrunners.org.uk
The subject matter of data protection is personal data. Pursuant to the GDPR, this includes all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person e.g. name.
We process your personal data in order to provide club activities, events and services. This includes health data which could assist medical care. It is a condition of club membership or participation in a club event or activity that you supply and permit us to process as much personal data as is reasonably required for the club to provide the relevant service. Our collection and processing of data shall be in line with the principals of the GDPR.
The club may process personal data such as email addresses in order to market club activities. By providing your email you consent to receiving such correspondence.
We may use third party processors in the course of club activities, for example for managing race entries. These parties may be inside or outside the UK.
We will delete or anonymize personal data when it is no longer required for the original purpose it was collected.
You have a right of access to the personal data; a right of rectification; a right of erasure; a right of processing restriction and a right to portability. Furthermore you have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Please contact the data controller.
